Among the actions of a responsible bank in favor of all those who are on the front line of battle, those affected by COVID-19 and their families, Santander México contributed in the following way:
1. Donation of medical equipment to the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER)
In mid-2020 and with an investment of $15 million, Santander México was responsible for equipping the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) with:
1,250 fan circuits.
38 hospital beds.
100 vital signs monitors.
50 fan heating units.
The INER became a COVID hospital, this means that from that moment to date, it is exclusively caring for patients with said disease. The purpose of the donation was to contribute to the speedy recovery of the inmates and support health personnel with tools.
2. Hot meal delivery
In conjunction with Fundación Gigante and Zurich-Santander , Santander México donated hot meals to the medical and administrative staff of the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, and the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER), who care for patients COVID.
The meals were prepared by Grupo Presidente and the Grupo Restaurantero Gigante brands. And the aid was delivered during the months of June and July 2020, benefiting 3,800 people with an investment of $3,886,000 distributed in:
20,600 breakfasts.

3. Support for CMR canteens
During 2020, Santander México worked with Fundación CMR, AC and Comedor Santa María, AC to combat childhood malnutrition and anemia. With this initiative they supported 120 boys and girls in vulnerable situations in Santiago Tlapanaloya, Tepeji del Río, Hidalgo, where the beneficiaries had access to daily food.
4. Portal We overcome this together
In order to support the most vulnerable sectors during the pandemic, Santander México launched the portal This is what we overcome together , a free access space that aims to counteract the impact caused by the health crisis, and is aimed at people and companies. in general, regardless of whether they are Santander clients or not.
